Information management and information system

      The subject is aimed at nurturing high-level inter-disciplinary talents who can adapt to the need of social and economic development in the 21st century, are equipped with a profound foundation in modern economics, management theories, and mathematical and physical knowledge, are capable in technological knowledge and application in computer science, have a command of systematic thinking, information system analysis and design methods, and information management methods, and can undertake work in information management and development and evaluation of information system in all levels of management departments, industrial and commercial enterprises, financial institutions, and scientific research institutions. The graduates of this subject can be awarded the bachelor's degree in management.
      This subject is aimed at nurturing students who are patriotic, study hard, have modern democratic, legal and scientific and technological senses as well as good mentality, and can apply the acquired theories and technologies to social practice.
      The students should also master the basic skills in information collection, analysis, research, integration, and processing necessary for work in information system development, maintenance, and management. They should also train the ability to solve ordinary actual problems and establish mathematical models. The students are also expected to master at least a foreign language, getting proficiency in reading and translating foreign technical books with a certain foundation in listening, speaking, and writing. They should also be equipped with the ability to solve problems with an integrated knowledge acquired as well as the ability to do scientific research and practical work. Through learning and practice, the students of this subject are expected to have a good command of the fundamental theories and knowledge in economic management and information management necessary for this subject, have a profound mathematical and physical foundation as well as ability to solve actual problems in a comprehensive way, and have a command of fundamental knowledge in computer software, networks, and system integration.
      The major courses for this subject include: Operational Research, Applied Statistics, Principle of Management, Economics, Information Management, Information Resources Management, Information Organization, Information Storage and Retrieval, Management Information System, Database Principle and Application, Computer Networks, Advanced Language Programming, Principle of Microcomputer, Data Structure, Operating System, Introduction of Electronic Commerce, International Trade and International Finance, and so on.
      The students are expected to undertake work in information organization and management, information system design, network information resources development and exploitation, and applied software development in all levels of government departments, enterprise and public institutions, and financial departments, as well as scientific research and professional teaching in related subjects. The employment rate after graduation in recent years is as high as 97.6%. The research directions that graduates of this subject can apply include: informatics, enterprise management, finance, management science and management engineering, as well as other related electronic information subjects and computer science. The admission rate for graduates is generally around 30%.
 

Business administration subject (science-oriented)

      The subject is aimed at culturing high-level inter-disciplinary management talents who are equipped with a profound foundation in management and economics theories, have a command of modern management technology and methods, computer science and technology and information technology, as well as a comprehensive application ability of theories, methodology and technology in modern management science, and can undertake various management activities, scientific research and teaching in national administrative departments, industrial and commercial enterprises, scientific research institutions, and financial insurance department.
      The major courses for this subject include: Fundamentals of Management, Management Economics, Operational Research and Systematic Engineering, Accounting and Financial Management, Organization and Human Resources Management, Production and Operation Management, Marketing, Strategy Management, Law of Economics, International Trade and International Finance, Securities Investment, Management Information System, Computer Networks, Database Principle and Application, Software Technology Foundation, Advanced Language Programming, Forecast and Decision-making, Science and Arts of Leadership, Organization Culture and management, and so on.
      The students are expected to undertake work in production management, marketing and planning, financial management, human resources management, information system application and management, and in comprehensive management including planning, organization, control, strategic decision-making and planning in all levels of government departments, industrial and commercial enterprises, financial department, and foreign-funded enterprises. They can also work in the scientific research and teaching in research institutions and teaching institutions. The employment rate after graduation in recent years is as high as 95%. They can also further their education to obtain master's and doctor's degrees in corresponding subjects.
 

Industrial Engineering Subject

      As a new subject combining the engineering technology with management science, the subject is aimed at nurturing high-level inter-disciplinary talents who know both technology and management, and also know to apply the knowledge, means, and methods of modern management science to plan, design, evaluate, and continuously improve the production and service system with the objectives of improving efficiency, promoting quality, lowering cost, and increasing safety. These are the distinctive features and advantages of the subject.
      The major courses for this subject include: Principle of Management, Engineering Economics, Forecast and Decision-making, Operational Research, Introduction to Industrial Engineering, Human Factors Engineering, Facility Planning and Logistics Analysis, Production Planning and Control, Quality Management and Reliability Engineering, Production System Modeling and Simulation, Management Information System, Advanced Manufacturing Technology, Accounting, Human Resources Management, Applied Statistics, Management Economics, Fundamentals of Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Technology of Electronic Products, Fundamentals of Microelectronics Technology, and so on.
      After learning, the students are expected to master a profound knowledge in industrial engineering, and fundamental electronic engineering technology, train a proficient ability in organization management, computer application, and exchange in foreign languages. After graduation the students are expected to design, plan, organize, implement, and control an operation system integrating effectively the human power, material, equipment, resources, and information.
      Over the recent years, the employment rate of graduates of this subject has kept above 96%. The graduates are distributed generally in electronic and communications manufacturing enterprises in the Southeastern coastal cities. The admission rate of graduates is about 20%, many of whom are admitted into leading domestics universities to work toward their master's degrees via exemption or examination.
 

Finance Subject

      The subject is aimed at nurturing high-level inter-disciplinary talents who can achieve comprehensive development morally, intellectually, and physically, adapt to the need of modern financial, economic, and scientific and technological developments, are equipped with a profound foundation in finance, economics, management theories, have a good command of business, operation or research in modern finance, securities investment, insurance and actuarial, investment and financing, financial planning, network finance, and other relative fields.
      The major courses for the subject include: Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Accounting, Principle of Management, Probability Statistics, Applied Statistics, Econometrics, Operational Research, Database Principle and Application, Advanced Language Programming, Finance, Investment Banking, Commercial Bank Management, International Trade, International Finance, Security investment, Financial Marketing, Financial Engineering, Insurance, Actuarial in Insurance, Network Finance, Enterprise Financial Planning, Bank Accounting, Financial Management, Electronic Commerce, and so on.
      The finance subject recruits science-oriented students so as to have a profound mathematical and physical foundation and an advantage in electronic information and network information. In addition to learning general financial theories, it also focuses on the students' ability in financial planning, enterprise planning, risk management, network finance, electronic banking, electronic commerce, and information finance. A master's degree program in finance is supplied for further education of the students to adapt them to the tendency of modern financial development and become high-level inter-disciplinary talents with both financial theories and technologies.
      The graduates generally get employment in operation, financial planning, practice, management, and research in commercial banks, insurance, securities, investment and financing institutions, economic management in government departments, and industrial and commercial enterprises. They are also available for research in the teaching of related subjects.
 

Electronic Commerce Subject

      The subject is aimed at nurturing high-level professional talents who can adapt to the need of social and economic development in the 21st century, have a comprehensive development morally, intellectually, and physically, are equipped with a profound theoretical foundation in management and economics, have a good command of knowledge and ability in information science and technology as well as the basic principles and rules in business activities, and are capable in carrying out business activities via networks to undertake work in modern business management, electronic commerce development, and application and management. The graduates of the subject will be awarded the bachelor's degree in management.
      This subject is aimed at nurturing students who are patriotic, study hard, have modern democratic, legal and scientific and technological senses as well as good mentality, and can apply the acquired theories and technologies to social practice.
      Through learning and practice, the students of this subject are expected to have a good command of the fundamental scientific theories, necessary economic management theories, knowledge in electronic commerce, and modern mathematical and physical methods and information technology. They should also train the ability to analyze and solve problems in electronic commerce using advanced management concept, method, and technology. They should be equipped with innovative spirit and rigorous study. The students are also expected to master at least a foreign language, getting proficiency in reading and translating foreign technical books with a certain foundation in listening, speaking, and writing. They should also be equipped with the ability to analyze and solve problems with an integrated knowledge acquired as well as the ability to do scientific research and practical work.

       The graduates generally undertake the development, management, and project planning of electronic commerce in commercial and trading enterprises, all levels of government departments, enterprises and public institutions, and financial industry. They can also undertake the scientific research or professional teaching in related subjects.
